Why Us?

Comprehensive & Personalized Care

Tailored Treatment Plans: We understand that mental health is not one-size-fits-all. Our treatments are highly individualized, crafted with your unique needs, goals, and mental health history in mind. Whether you're seeking TMS therapy, Accelerated TMS, Spravato, or just need a second opinion with experts in advanced treatments, we will work with you to create the best plan for your treatment.

Coordination with Your Providers: We work in conjunction with your existing providers, ensuring a seamless and integrative approach to your mental health care. Our services augment and extend your current team of medical and mental health providers. You will be able to continue seeing your current therapist and other providers throughout you evaluation and treatment with Nexus Neuropsychiatry.

Leaders in Interventional Psychiatry

Experienced Team: Our team of board-certified psychiatrists, with advanced training in interventional psychiatry, specializes in cutting-edge therapies like TMS. Our founders, Dr. Shane Stegen and Dr. Nadine Mills bring decades of expertise from major institutions like the University of Rochester Medical Center to a comfortable and accessible private setting. We are one of the few providers that have experience in all existing FDA approved psychiatric interventions including ECT, TMS, and Spravato (nasal ketamine). Our team provides more interventional treatments than all other interventional providers in Rochester combined.

Focus on Innovation: We offer the latest in psychiatric treatments, such as TMS and Deep TMS, which are FDA-approved, non-invasive therapies for depression and other mental health conditions. We also offer a number of treatment options that no other local providers have such as OCD treatments, Deep TMS, and accelerated TMS.

State-of-the-Art Technology

Advanced TMS Therapies: We use state-of-the-art equipment, including MagVenture and BrainsWay TMS to deliver precise and effective treatments. No other hospital or office has access to all types of TMS. Whether it’s TMS for depression or OCD, we use the best technology available to ensure safe and effective outcomes.

Non-Pharmacological Options: For patients who prefer to avoid medications or for those who haven’t found relief through traditional treatments, we offer alternative therapies like TMS, providing drug-free solutions for mental health conditions.

Comfortable & Accessible Environment

Convenient Location & Easy Access: Our clinic is easily accessible with ample parking and a calm, peaceful environment designed to make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in.

Personalized Attention: Unlike larger facilities, we focus on providing individualized attention in a welcoming space. You'll never feel like just a number in our practice; every patient receives compassionate, one-on-one care.

Positive Patient Outcomes

Success Stories:  Many of our patients have experienced life-changing improvements. With treatments like TMS, patients who have struggled with depression for years often see significant symptom relief within a few weeks. Check out our  Patient Testimonials to read stories of healing and transformation.

High Success Rates:  In research, TMS has been shown to help up to 60% of patients with treatment-resistant depression, with about one-third achieving full remission. Our results have supported this trend and we are as hopeful as you are that you will experience rapid and lasting relief.

Insurance and Self Pay Options

Insurance Coverage: We accept most major insurances, including Medicare, and will work with you to ensure coverage for your treatments. We are experts at obtaining any necessary pre-authorization for the treatments we offer, and will go to bat with insurance to ensure you get the treatment you need.

Options for Self Pay: For patients that want to pursue treatment outside of insurance coverage, we offer affordable self pay options and payment plans. We understand that some people desire or need these treatments even if insurance coverage has not caught up to the science. After working with our doctors to put together the recommended treatment plan, we will provide you with transparent pricing and a payment plan.

Our Process

Initial referral: Interested patients can submit online booking requests on our website, or call our office directly. Your provider can also submit referrals via website, fax, or call.

Clinical Coordinator screening: First you will speak with one of our staff who will ensure we have all the necessary information for scheduling (name, phone, email), and briefly run your insurance benefits to ensure that we can provide you with the most accurate pricing for our services. If we are in network with your insurance our visits are usually covered at a similar cost to your outpatient psychiatrist or specialist visit.

Interventional Psychiatry Consultation: You will then meet with one of our interventional psychiatrists who will discuss with you the most problematic symptoms you are looking to target, and review all past psychiatric history and treatment as well as any medical conditions that may be relevant to your treatment. We will then review and discuss all treatment options, and work with you to formulate a plan for next steps of treatment.

Treatment: If you opt for one of the modalities we offer in our clinic, we will immediately get your scheduled to start your course of treatment. Most of our new patients start within a week of obtaining consultation and prior authorization. If you are unsure or choose to pursue another treatment, we will assist in connecting you to other providers in the area who provide this.

Follow up: Throughout your treatment at Nexus Neuropsychiatry PLLC you will receive periodic follow ups with your assigned psychiatrist. After your course of treatment is complete your psychiatrist will again follow up a few weeks to discuss any thoughts or questions you may have, and will provide you and your other providers with a summary of care. We value your ongoing well-being and you will always be welcome to return for follow up if additional problems arise or you feel retreatment may be helpful.
